1、 电池应该经常补添蒸馏水（纯水）。
2、 长期不使用电动叉车应该将蓄电池充满电搁置。并保持相隔1~2个月左右的频率进行充电。
3、 在多班作业时，电机驱动的仓储叉车需要有备用电池(连续工作的情况下，电池电量消耗的快，对电池的损耗也比较大)。
4、 电瓶充电时，必须将充电回路与斩波器完全脱离，因为除了影响充电机充电外，充电机产生的过电压也会损害斩波器。
5、 电池不要横放。因为，电池的内部一般是22～28%的稀硫酸。电池正放的时候电解液可以淹没极板并且还剩下一点空间如果把电池横放的话会有一部分电极板暴露在空气中，这对电池的极板非常不利，而且一般的电池的观察孔或者电池的顶部都有排气口与外界相通，所以电池横放电解液很容易流出。
6、选择智能型分阶段的充电器，防止过充导致失水。
7、选择高效率的电动轮毂系统，减少工作电流。
8、勤充电或保持合理的充电频率，最好能做到有计划充电。如一天一充或二天一充。
9、防止亏电存放，亏电存放对电池最有害。
